  • The quiz is made up of 20 questions and points are awarded for correct answers
  • Participants who are not MIPS members are awarded double points if they subsequently join MIPS
  • Only university students who belong to an Australian medical student society may take the quiz.
  • Each university’s medical student society’s score is based on the average score of students who have completed the quiz with a weighting based on the number of students enrolled in the medical course which levels the competition between the larger and smaller universities.
  • Universities must have at least 50 entries attributable to them to be able to win the prize.

Awarding the prize

The winning society’s sponsorship officer, treasurer, president or other contact will be notified by phone in the first instance and then by email if required. If the winning society cannot be contacted or fail to reply within 20 working days, MIPS will award the prize to the society with the next highest score.

MIPS accepts no responsibility for any variation in the prize value. The prize, or any unused portion of the prize, is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash.

If for any reason this promotion is not capable of running as planned, MIPS reserves the right in its sole discretion, (subject to any written direction given by a relevant Regulatory Authority), to cancel at any time, terminate and/or modify the promotion conditions at any time without notice. Modified promotion conditions will apply to quiz completions received after the time the conditions have been modified.

Use of information

MIPS CrazySocks4Docs Photo Competition

Terms

Competition closes at 5pm (AEST) on Friday 18 June 2021.

MIPS will judge entries and select the best photo based on originality, quality and artistic merit.

The winning entry will win an event hosted by MIPS worth $500 at their hospital. The prize is non-transferable.

MIPS' decision is final and no further correspondence will be entered into once winner is decided.

Conditions

Any entry not complying with the relevant terms and conditions is invalid.

Entry is open to all doctors in Australian hospitals.

Entries must be original image/s and the entrant must be the copyright owner of any images submitted.

MIPS may undertake any post-production and editing of the image submitted.

An entry must not contain:
  • any identifiable people even where a recording authorisation has been provided:
  • any infringing, threatening, false, misleading, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, scandalous, inflammatory, pornographic or profane content;
  • any material that could constitute or encourage conduct which would be considered a criminal offence, incite violence or racism, or give rise to civil liability or otherwise violate any law either of Australia trademarks or copyrighted material owned (in whole or in part) by third parties;
  • names, likenesses or other characteristics identifying celebrities or other public figures (living or dead);
  • any commercial content that promotes any product or service other than MIPS.

The entrant indemnifies MIPS against any claim, legal or otherwise, that may arise out of publication of the image.

If for any reason this Contest is not capable of running as planned, whether caused by computer virus, mobile phone failure, line drop out, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other cause beyond the control of MIPS which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or integrity of the Contest, MIPS reserves the right in its sole discretion, (subject to any written direction given by a relevant Regulatory Authority), to cancel, terminate, modify the Contest. MIPS will disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process.

Entries are deemed to be received at the time of receipt into MIPS' database. MIPS is not responsible for receipt of incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete information caused by an entrant or occurring during transmission. Competition - Fitness Feb  2025

  1. Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions. By entering, participants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
  2. The Promoter of competition is Medical Indemnity Protection Society (MIPS) (ABN 64 007 067 281) Level 37, 55 Collins Street, Melbourne, VIC, 3000.
  3. The competition will commence on 1 February 2025 and close on 28 February 2025 (the Competition Period).

Who can enter 

  1. To enter, you must be: 

    • over 18 years of age;
    • Any staff member within an emergency medicine department, including by not limited to medical and support staff, and;
    • consent to the Promotor collecting and using your information for marketing purposes in accordance with their Privacy Policy and to contact you via phone or email.
  2. Directors, management and employees of the Promoter and its related bodies corporate, and immediate family members of each of these persons are ineligible to enter. 

How to enter

  1. To enter you must register prior to the Competition Period by providing your details by completing the form at: https://www.mips.com.au/resources/forms/fitness-february-2025
  2. Each Participant submitting their details and satisfying the requirements will automatically have their name included in the registration list. Entries received outside the Competition Period will not be considered.
  3. Each Participant may only enter one (1) team.
  4. A team is defined as being ten (10) or more members. If you cannot gather ten members, you may enter as an individual.
  5. Incomplete or illegible entries will be deemed invalid.

Prizes

  1. There are two (2) prizes to be awarded per state or territory:
    • A team prize of a VISA gift card, valued at $1000; and
    • An individual prize of a $250 gift card.
    • The total prize pool is valued at AUD $10,000 including GST.
  2. Lost, stolen, damaged or expired prizes are not replaced nor refunded.
  3. If for any reason any prize is not available, it will be substituted with a prize of equal or greater value at the Promoter’s discretion.

Selection of Winners

  1. This is a competition and winners will be identified by the following mechanisms:
    • For each state or territory, the team who completes the most minutes of exercise during the competition period; and
    • For each state or territory, the individual who completes the most minutes of exercise during the competition period.
    • The draw will be held on Monday, 3 March at 12:00pm, at Medical Indemnity Protection Society, Level 37, 55 Collins Street, Melbourne, VIC, 3000.

Notification of Winners

  1. The winners will be notified by telephone or email within two (2) business days of the draw.
  2. The prize will be delivered to the winning teams representative’s email / address as per their registration details.
  3. The Promoter reserves the right to request verification of identity, residential address of winners and any other information relevant to the entry. Any requirements regarding verification will be at the Promoters discretion.

Unclaimed prizes

  1. If necessary, a second chance draw will be held at least three (3) months after the initial draw at Medical Indemnity Protection Society, Level 37, 55 Collins Street, Melbourne, VIC, 3000, to distribute any unclaimed prize. Winners will be notified by telephone or email within two (2) days of the draw.
  2. Prizes are not variable nor transferable. Prizes are not redeemable for cash. The Promoter’s decisions will be final and binding - no correspondence will be entered into. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for late, lost, misdirected entries nor other communications.

Publicity

  1. Participants consent to the use of their image and name for promotional activities by the Promoter and its related bodies corporate and acknowledge that it is a condition of taking the Prize that all winners agree to promotional activities, including the use of their names and images without additional compensation.

General

  1. The Promoter is not liable for any loss, damage or injury suffered (even if caused by negligence) as a result of accepting and/or using a prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. MIPS new graduate "Class of 2024" promotion

Promotion Dates 

  1. The promotion will commence at 01 July 2024 and close at 15 November 2024 (the Promotion Period).

How to enter

  1. To enter you must, during the Promotion Period, provide your details and be accepted or be a current MIPS new graduate member by completing either a MIPS form offered via a University promotion or the form at: https://www.mips.com.au/apply
  2. Each person submitting their details and satisfying the requirements will automatically have their name added to the distribution list and be considered an eligible participant in the promotion. Entries received outside the Competition Period will not be considered.
  3. Only one entry is permitted per eligible participant.
  4. Incomplete or illegible entries will be deemed invalid.

Promotional item 

  1. The promotional item for eligible participants is a "Class of 2024" water bottle, which will be order based on the number of memberships received and accepted. The RRP of the bottle is $30.00 excluding GST. 
  2. The prize terms are as follows: 

    • Lost, stolen, damaged or expired items are not replaced nor refunded. 
    • If for any reason any prize is not available, it will be substituted with an item of equal or greater value at the Promoter’s discretion. 

Notification of Collection
  1. Members will be notified by email no later than November 30 2024 of collection details for the item. 
  2. The item will be delivered to the University of the eligible participant, unless otherwise advised. 
  3. The Promoter reserves the right to request verification of identity, residential address and any other information relevant to the entry from eligible participants. Any requirements regarding verification will be at the Promoters discretion.
